Nigerian dwarf goat

Children’s Farms·Mammal

The Nigerian dwarf goat can be white, black, chocolate, red, or gold. White markings are common, as are spots and other color combinations. This goat is a dairy breed that provides a large amount of milk given its size. Because of its excellent milk production, the Nigerian dwarf goat was chosen to participate in the Biosphere 2 program, an experiment to mimic a space colony where people spent two years sealed inside a self-contained dome with no outside support.
