You're Never Too Old

... to learn more about the wonders of the world around you. Join other active seniors in Zoo learning programs that take you outside to your backyard and around the world as you learn about animals we might see every day as well as exotic animals from faraway places. There is a whole world out there waiting to be explored.

Guests with special needs are welcome. Please contact the education department for more information.

Senior Wednesdays

Senior Wednesdays are held at Sedgwick County Zoo on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. The Zoo programs include breakfast sundries, an informational chat and occasionally a tour. No registration is required. This class is for active guests over 55. Class fee is $4 per adult.

    Exciting adventures are held every Wednesday at different locations all over Wichita. Visit the Wichita Art Museum, Ulrich Museum, Sedgwick County Historical Museum, Wichita's Downtown Public Library, Great Plains Nature Center, Old Cowtown Museum, Exploration Place, WATER Center and The Kansas African American Museum.

Coffee Connection

Join us in the Cargill Learning Center the first Monday of every month to learn about new tidbits at the Zoo! Various Zoo staff and docents will give us a little insight into the inner workings of the Zoo and what is happening. Sit down, relax, and have a cup of joe from our friends at The Spice Merchant! This FREE program is geared towards adults but all ages are welcome. Advance registration is not required. Programs begin at 9:00 a.m.

Social Hours – Let Your Wild Child Out

Adult Adventures, No alcohol served
Join us for an informal evening of treats and learning at the Zoo! Each social hour takes place from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Events are for adults 18 years and older. Ticket sales end 48 hours prior to the event.

Each person must have an individual ticket. Space is limited. Tickets will be scanned at the door. All events take place rain or shine. All reservations are final. No cancellations, refunds, rain checks or exchanges; tickets will not be replaced if lost, stolen or unused.

Adult Adventures, Alcohol served
All guests must be 21 years of age.

Wheeling Wild Tuesdays

Join us for a bike club designed for leisurely riders. It doesn’t matter if you are young or young at heart, come out and get some air! All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone must ride a bicycle; small children may ride in a bike seat or an attached wagon. Rides take place on the third Tuesday each month 5:30-6:30 p.m. New this year, guests may sign up for one or all of the rides. All rides begin and conclude at Zoo admissions. Thank you to our friends at Bicycle X-Change for their sponsorship of this great program!
