Zoo Closed

Mar 13, 2020 · Featured

We are temporarily closed to the public.

With the health and safety of our employees, volunteers, and guests top of mind, and as a precautionary measure to limit the spread of COVID-19, the Sedgwick County Zoo is temporarily closing as of 5 p.m. Friday, March 13. The Zoo will remain closed to the public until further notice.

Our primary obligation is to provide for the care of our animals. Our core staff will continue to provide care for our animals and operate the critical systems of the Zoo.

Our animals are doing well and we will continue to provide them with dedicated, professional care each day. We are proactively monitoring our stock of food and medical supplies to ensure essentials remain on hand in the event of an emergency.

Closing the Zoo allows us to reduce the risk of exposure to our employees and conserve essential supplies that may not be readily available during this outbreak.

We understand that this closure is an inconvenience to our guests who have made plans to visit the Zoo and we apologize but we feel strongly that this is the best decision for our animals, our staff, and our community.

For inquiries about tickets that have already been purchased, please call our admissions office at 316.266.8211.
