All aboard the Martha C. Buford Safari Express! Journey around the entire Zoo property, and enjoy never-before-seen views from behind the scenes!
The Martha C. Buford Safari Express is a C.P. Huntington Electric Train, manufactured locally by Chance Rides, that takes Zoo adventurers on a 1.3-mile journey around the Zoo. Much of the track is behind the scenes, offering guests an opportunity to enjoy never-before-seen views of the Zoo grounds.
Along the trip, passengers will hear recordings from our very own animal care experts and discover more about the conservation efforts SCZ participates in and how we care for the animals who call SCZ home.
Guests can hop on or off the Safari Express at two stations: the Main Station near the front of the Zoo, and the Gorilla Station at Downing Gorilla Forest. Tickets will scan twice, ensuring guests get to take the full journey even if they get off and back on later!
