Armenian Viper

Found in rocky patches at high elevations, these snakes hibernate for six months or longer. Due to overgrazing livestock, their habitat is threatened, but conservation efforts are being made to save the species. Rather than laying eggs like most snakes, Armenian viper females can give birth to around nine babies.
