Black and white spitting cobra

Amphibians & Reptiles·Reptile

This snake is primarily nocturnal, and the time of day one encounters this snake in the wild determines its temperament. During the day, the black-and-white spitting cobra is more likely to behave timidly, and runaway to hide in a nearby burrow when threatened. But at night, it is more aggressive and likely to stand its ground, rearing up to display its hood and spit venom.
