The black crowned crane is a tall African bird characterized by their dark black and grey feathers as well as a golden crown of bristle-like feathers on their heads. Not only are these birds found in the wetlands and grasslands of sub-Saharan Africa, but they also mate for life and typically hatch around 1-3 chicks.
