Pineywoods cow

Children’s Farms·Mammal

The Pineywoods cow is generally red, brown, or occasionally black and white, either spotted or speckled. The horns curve inward or upward and their smaller structure has been retained to meet the needs of farmers and loggers of southern Mississippi. The Pineywoods is one of the oldest breeds of cattle in the United States and is considered to be the hardiest bovine in the Deep South.
