Poitou donkey

The Poitou donkey (pwa-too), a French breed, has a large head and long ears covered in thick hair. The rest of the coat is thick and shaggy and varies in color from dark brown to black. The Poitou donkey was historically used solely for breeding mules and were once considered the finest and strongest donkeys in France.
