Thick-billed parrot

North America·Bird

These birds used to live as far north as Arizona and New Mexico, but logging development and climate change has decreased the thick-billed parrot’s habitat. Illegal pet trade is another factor in their decreasing population. They are medium-sized, bright green in color, and have distinct red patched on their crown, shoulders, and thighs.
