Vietnam pheasant

Tropics·Bird

Deforestation, hunting, and the use of defoliants during the Vietnam War have all contributed to a severe population decrease in the Vietnam pheasant. There were no confirmed sightings of birds from 1999 to 2018, leading some to believe the bird was extinct in the nearly two decades between.
