Sedgwick County Zoo was selected as the first site of observer training workshops for Dr. Jane Goodall’s ChimpanZoo project in 1988. Researchers from zoos throughout the country received training from Dr. Goodall and her colleagues in the methodology of recording chimpanzee behavior. Our Zoo continues to study chimpanzees in our care and share our findings on exhibit modification and behavioral enrichment with other zoos throughout the country.
